Inspired Boudoir – Dominatrix

It’s time to dig deep, Sexy Chicks…we’re going to discuss what many may consider to be a taboo subject: the Dominatrix.  It takes a strong, confident person to admit their attraction to being a dominant, sexy figure in personal settings!  Even if you’ve never dressed the part or experimented with dominant or submissive roles, you have to admit that thigh-high leather boots and a corset make for a pretty damn sexy image!

Ashira Photography wants to cater to you and your partner by giving you a once-in-a-lifetime experience and your partner some *amazing* enticing pictures.  One idea is to dress up like a dominatrix.  Maybe it’s something you and your partner have discussed or maybe it would be an unexpected surprise for your lover to see you dressed up…whatever the scenario, it is sure to be a turn-on for you both!

Let’s look at some images of the dominatrix:

What are we dealing with here?  Well, lots of black, to be sure.  Your hair doesn’t have to be dark, and you can see that both short and long hair “works”.  An eye mask is a playful prop, as is the whip – both add to the style, whether it is something you admittedly or secretly like.  The corset in the picture above has a “sweetheart” shape which is going to make ladies with smaller breasts or boyish figures have more of a feminine shape.  The clothing is tight and fitted, and black leather boots or black thigh-highs with garters make you look long and lean but feminine, as well.

What if this look isn’t what you are used to? How can you pull it off?  A hand on the hip is good, as you can see.  Notice that one hip is thrust out slightly, too.  The shoulders are back and the gaze is directed at the camera…you are almost daring your partner to look at you!

Why not give your partner something unexpected in his collection of images?

Inspired Boudoir – The 1940s

The 1940s were an interesting decade.  The first half of the decade was marked by World War II, and the fashions of the time were certainly influenced by the rationing of fabrics and materials.  During the war, women were charged with taking care of their families while their husbands and brothers were fighting around the globe and afterward, they were often expected to resume their prior roles as caretakers, mothers, and wives.

We admire the women of this era for their ability to “wear many different hats”!  If you are interested in channeling the 1940s’ style for a photo shoot with Ashira Photography, give us a call!

Here are some considerations for your glamorous 1940s-style shoot:

• Women’s clothing in the 1940s placed emphasis on broad, well-defined shoulders and tailored waistlines.  Look for a tailored jacket with some padding in the shoulders to pull this off.  Skirts were often knee-length or slightly longer; they were also fuller without being bulky.
• Matching hats and gloves will complete your illusion of a wholesome, All-American girl.  Hats should be worn slightly tilted and should be embellished with veil netting, feathers, ribbons, or brooches.
• If you want to feel like a 1940s starlet going to the premiere of her new film, look for a long evening gown with a halter or high neckline and a plunging back.  Find a pair of elbow-length gloves to complete the look.
• Your hair should be smooth on top and curled at the ends, whether you sport a short style or a loose, shoulder-length style.
