Below are some Q & A’s:

1.    Name of your Business?

The D-Tales

2.    Years in business?

I have been creating and executing events since the 90’s.  From the beaches of Cabo Mexico, The Bahamas to the vineyards of Napa and the lights of Vegas.  From Intimate to the elaborate, every event is distinct and unique.

Onc of my favorite things to do is Bridal Photoshoots. It is a challenge for a planner to show their work when it actually is the Bride’s vision.  When I work with photographers for shoots, I am able to use my creative side to inspire! The stuff is usually bold and off the wall but oh how much fun to see the results. My favorite was a “green/eco industrial” theme on top of an old theater!  WOW!

3.    Website, blog, twitter address, face book page, contact info

I am a social media JUNKIE and do so much planning with my brides online!  If you ever see a picture of me, look closely and you will see my pink phone case……… I am always connected to my brides and social media. Yeah, it is kind of an addiction, lol.

I JUST added a chat option to my webpage!  So I suggest that you jump on the website chat and say hello or ask me wedding advice.  You should definitely become a fan of The D-Tales’ facebook page. Another great resource to connect with me.

4.    What type of services does your business offer?

We offer a full service event planning solution. Whenever you gather a group of people for a celebration, we can make it happen!  Corporate events, Bat/Bar Mitzvahs, Baby Showers, Birthday celebrations and of course, our passion- WEDDINGS!!! I can’t remember a time that I didn’t cry when a bride walks down the aisle.

5.    What are some current trends in your industry?

One of the biggest trends in Weddings is a DIY perspective.  In 2009, there was an overwhelming cut of budgets.  Brides are looking for deals.  The challenge is to get couples to see that proper planning and using a planner can actually save money. There are so many great DIY shopping sites that brides are starting projects and buying way too many items that don’t create a consistent theme.  When they add up the cost of what they have purchased, they then realize that they have way too many individual pieces that don’t “fit” into the design theme.  Wedding planning is a process and best done in a methodical way!

6.    How do you aid brides to be in finding inspiration?

Making a wedding unique is the most fun!  Finding inspiration is easy if you ask the right questions.  How did they meet?  What makes them unique as individuals? What do they LOVE to do? I start off with a Q&A session to find out what is most important to the couple: Fun? Exotic? Elegant?  Once you find out the critical elements and couple it with the pieces that make them unique, it is easy to design an inspirational and cohesive theme for the wedding.

7.    Tips of planning either a bridal or bachelorette party?

Most brides know their friends better than I do at this point.  The object is to find something that creates a fun environment for celebrating your friendship.  From the usual, girls night out with champagne and limos to a mellow spa party with pedicures and champagne, they must truly be a reflection of the bride and her friends

8.    What are some bridal or bachelorette ideas brides have came to you with, and how did you help them plan them?

I never rule out brides suggestions!  When a bride wants something she is usually right.  A recent request was for a sno-cone machine!  Both Mom and I rolled our eyes at this request and the bride was insistent!  In fact, she text me daily for the last two weeks “What about the sno-cone machine”.   I just had to laugh!  I arranged for the sno-cone machine and, since the wedding ceremony was outside in JUNE, we provided each guest with a sno-cone to stay cool during the 100 degree temperatures OUTSIDE!!!  Now, the bride and groom were forbidden the syrup (you can only imagine the damage that blue syrup can cause, not to mention blue teeth during the photo session!)

9.    What is the craziest request you have every received?

I can’t really say that anything is crazy these days, lol.  Somehow the initial laughter of what a couple wants disappears when I realize that I need to make it happen in a way that doesn’t look tacky or too off the wall as to offend the guests.

One of my FAVORITES is to create a whole story around the day!  I am working on the “funnest” wedding right now in fact.  Talking these guests through a “Theatrical Event” starting with nontraditional ceremony where guests will enjoy the ceremony on their own picnic blankets (custom made by the bride) - loaded with snacks and drinks.  The cocktail and reception will be based around the bride and groom.  It is a journey that will take the guests on an adventure through the life of the bride and groom. The ending to the evening is a magical surprise that I can talk about yet……….. Let’s just say it is going to be a “blast”

To me, the best part of this type of “crazy” wedding is that it reflects the personality of the bride and groom.  When you assist them in creating a unique day, that is truly THEM; it will be a success and talked about for years!

SURPRISE US! – With something special about your company

1.    We LOVE to spoil our brides! Every bride wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day (even if it is a backyard wedding.)  In fact, our full service brides enjoy our special DIVA package! With this our brides and her party are treated like royalty and a stress free day is accomplished.  You might just need to call us if you want more information about the DIVA package (we are kind of secretive about it because NOBODY in Orlando offers this level of service….. Want a spoiled day; we can do all that and more!!!) Yes, you can add The DIVA package to ANY wedding with just a phone call so ask away!
